Not so Speedy delivery...

We were told that the lumber was going to be delivered Friday for them to start framing on Saturday or Monday but when My husband went down after work Monday it was a waste because they were not framing and there was no lumber in sight.... BUMMER!

I asked the PM about it and he said that it came today and they should start framing tomorrow. I wish he would have told us it was delayed... Do I have to call for an update every day? Some voluntary information would be nice, communication is the key!!! Anyway mini rant over ;)

Below are some pictures of the progress so far.

  1. That happened to us, but trust me, once it starts to go up time will fly by and there will always be something new to see!

    1. Right, they are working on like four houses all at the same time I hope they don't mix things up. I love looking at the progress pictures hopefully I will get some good shots today.

  3. Yep, saw your wood stacked in nice piles on your front yard when I was checking out my lot last night :) Hopefully they'll have started framing you today.

From the pictures it looks like they did a nice job on your garage concrete.

I hear ya on the communication thing (having the same experience). Like you, I'm also concerned about the number of houses they are putting up right now. My hope is that things come in on time and are done right!

    2. Ouch! That's not cool - just not show up? PM did mention last week that there was a problem with framer availability but I thought that was because they were building too many houses at one time.

  5. Dont be surprised if you dont get a blow by blow of every delay, its not going to happen....

Framers not showing up is very common, they get held up and there is no communicaton and they wont show up...very expected.

I also give myself a week cushion, even after being in the house delays are inevitable and no communication, our concrete driveway was to be installed this week, I knew that wouldnt happen maybe next week, sure enough its Thurs and no concrete...I've learn to adapt and know they are always behind, and its a bonus if its on time. Its a coping tool I guess :(

    1. I always think that if someone is supposed to do a job and is getting paid for it they show up. I guess I am learning alot and will continue to learn through out this entire experence. I understand every industry has different standards and I guess it is the nature of the beast.
