Follow up to our Permit status

So thanks to Brian I was able to locate our permit number and have been checking the status daily on the county's website. I called the office on Monday and spoke with the engineering office. The person I spoke with was very friendly and said they are working on it. When I checked back the next day (yes I am pressed) the Engineering plans had been approved!!!  Leaving only the Soil conservation and supervisor approvals remaining.

So of course I called the Soil conservation office and the gentleman I spoke with was very forthcoming with information and told me he was going to pull our record in the morning (today). So you know I have checked several times today to see if there has been an update. Nothing yet but I will check again there is probably a delay in the system updates....

Still No Building permit

Well I just received word from our PM that our building permit did not come through this week as originally expected. Now they are saying March 11th start date an additional two weeks?!?!?! It sounds kind of fishy though because they told me the permit should come through this week and then they would be able to start construction on the following Monday (Feb. 25) but now he is saying the permit should "pop" next week and they will have to wait another week for inspections pushing the start date back to March 11th...

Did anyone else have permit issues?

The Stake out...

The pre-construction meeting was great. I'm so glad we had the opportunity to speak with our PM Jim, in great detail and review the blueprints. We feel very confident in Jim's attention to detail. He was very prepared for the meeting and asked us questions as well as gave us the opportunity to ask question; many of which he answered before we had the chance to ask. Unfortunately the county is back logged with building permits so we are still waiting on an official grounding breaking date :( hopefully the week of the 25th.

Pre-Construction Meeting!!!!

It is finally time for our pre-construction meeting Friday!!!! I am so excited, it has been such a long process for us. We started the process in July of last year but it seems everything has worked out in our favor (God has a plan) we decided to wait for the new Ravenna floorplan and we will be able to get a separate bathroom for our princess, with three boys she (or they depending on how you look at it) will need it when she gets older and my double ovens! We have a long list of things to ask thanks to all of the wonderful advice from all of your blogs and lots of HGTV.
