All of the lumber, floor board, house wrap and plywood a girl could want even the blueprints labeled for the framers, but no framers.
Nephew: Wait a minute do you hear that?
Me: What?
Nephew: Silence!
My nephew was delighted because of how quiet it is where we are moving and I just wanted to hear hammering lol. I called the PM and he said the Framers "didn't show up" What in the world? How do you just not show up for a job?!?!!?!? Now, I have been told that this is nothing unusual but really come on now this is ridiculous..... Before waisting my precious $3.75 a gallon gas a phone call, email or text would have been appreciated. PM said to call him the next day to see if they showed up so I called Thursday afternoon, they did begin work but he said not much progress had been made and of course the torrential down pour this morning stopped all work but he assured me they would be working tomorrow so we will take the trip to check it out.
You know I couldn't leave Wednesday without taking some photos so here they are.
You will see your house soon enough!
ReplyDeleteMaybe I should stay a way for a few days to let things progress...... NOT lol
DeletePretty soon they'll be moving so fast you won't be able to keep up.
ReplyDeleteYour are right I feel like the kids when it is time for ice cream.
DeleteHow fabulous to see progression so quickly! Awesome!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I am looking forward to seeing your home the blue prints look like it is going to be beautiful.
DeleteI had that same feeling. We know they are actually going really fast but everyday without progress is nerve wracking. By next weekend you should have the skeleton of you house.
ReplyDeleteI will be so glad to see it. I want to be able to walk inside.
DeleteOn Saturday it looked like they were making better progress and this week's weather is supposed to be great. They should be able to get most of it done.
ReplyDeleteHappy to see we are getting the LowE house wrap-any extra insulation to lower utility bills is always a plus!
Nevermind the comment about this weeks weather - it looks like it's changed. Still, PM said that rain didn't bother them too much :)
Deleteyes I feel really good about the new building standards. The county really put alot of thought into ensuring just anything isn't built. I hope we can catch a break and at least get under roof before we get any more April Showers!
DeleteI am glad they have finally started. I also don't understand the not showing up for your job!! Hope this week they get moving and you get to see a house!

DeleteRight but the PM was very nonchalant about it. I was surprised. Things are moving now an i have to get moving on some window treatments :) if you find out about any good deals let me know!
DeleteThis reminds me of ALL the moments I waited for something to happen and recognized as we kept waiting that I was being taught the true virtue of patience. I am telling you once they begin building you will have more moments like this, start, stop, start and stop at least it appears that way!! So in those mean time spaces take the opportunity to keep packing, decluttering, and cleaning so you won't be bombarded with overwhelm of moving and cleaning. It's exhausting. I started packing early, room by room until we were living around boxes. LOL So when it was time to move we hauled TAILED!! LOL Continue to enjoy your build!!
ReplyDeleteGreat advice! I will be ready to run as soon we have keys in hand! lol If you saw our house now you would think we were leaving next week. :) I need to shop around for some window treatments any location suggestions would be appreciated!
